An old-fashioned black bike is parked in the weeds near the beach. The sandy terrain has patches of rough brown grasses, struggling to survive. You can just make out the sea in the background where the sand dunes dip down a bit. There is a thin dark flag moving in the wind. The clouds overhead are a moody purple, with the lower clouds catching some bright sunlight. This oil painting is of a photo I took on the coast of the Netherlands in a little town called Noordwijk.
