It is night in a city that loves light, for the sky has not settled down to sleep. A vivid red bike is leaning against a bridge railing in the foreground with part of a blue bike showing in front of it. The viewer appears to be standing on a bridge over a dark canal, with a few boats parked along the right canal wall. The warm street lights and shop lights glow and reflect as they recede into the distance. Some of the lights are so warm, they are red. This painting came from a photo I took in Amsterdam.
